OUR CLEANING STEPS
At Deep Eddy Rug Cleaners we know that every rug is different. That is why we tailor our cleaning to your specific rug. Every rug is inspected before we do anything to determine what the best cleaning method will be. The following steps are a general guide that most rugs go through.
Step 1:
Rugs are gently tumbled to remove dry particulate matter. This "dusting" process is extremely important as dirt and other debris slowly grind away at the wool. Over time this grinding will weaken the fibers and lessen the life of the rug. That is why it is so important to not have your rug cleaned in your home. No company can properly "dust" a rug in home.
Step 2:
Using specially formulated detergents and rainwater, each rug and carpet is thoroughly cleaned, front and back, by hand. At this time, the fringe will be given special attention.
Step 3:
Following shampooing, each rug is thoroughly rinsed using rainwater to remove as much soiling and residue as possible.
Step 4:
After the initial rinsing, the rug is fed through the MOR machine at least twice, which allows for a final rainwater rinse and presses out the majority of the water.
Step 5:
The rug is then placed into a centrifuge, which is specifically designed for rugs. The centrifuge is used to remove all excess water, which accelerates drying, avoiding color migration, and bacterial growth.
Step 6:
Before the rug is moved to the drying room, the pile and fringe is hand groomed. It is during this process we remove as much animal hair as possible with a special brush.
Step 7:
Our heat and humidity controlled drying room is important in the preservation of your rug. The next morning all rugs are brought out and thoroughly inspected again. If need be we will run the rug through one or all of the steps again until we feel that it is as clean as we can safely get it.
CUSTOM CUT PADDING
At Deep Eddy we offer a full line of padding for your fine area rugs. All pads are custom cut to fit perfectly under your rug. Maintaining a proper pad under a rug is essential in protecting your investment. A good, high quality pad will extend the life of your rug and help to prevent the rug from sliding. To properly measure your rug for a pad, measure the width and the length of the rug without fringe and then deduct about two inches from each measurement. Along with this information we will need to know what type of floor the rug is going on.
